About PopUp Film Fest

Black and white line drawing of a person’s upper body with a large black speech bubble next to their head. The person appears to have a happy expression, with their tongue sticking out slightly, and they are holding a box or container in one hand with a circular symbol on it.

Our Story

Based in Southwest Michigan, PopUp Film Fest is built around one simple idea, if you made something, you should have a place to show it.

We started PopUp in 2026 because there are filmmakers everywhere making things they’re proud of, but more often than not those films never get much further than the unlisted YouTube link for those who helped make them. We want to create a place where that changes.

PopUp Film Fest is about more than putting films on a screen. It's about bringing together and celebrating the enormous talent and effort to make them. The directors, writers, actors, cinematographers, editors, and friends who somehow got talked into helping make a piece of art that makes an impact long after the credits roll.
